If your mom is a reader (most moms are) and you still have no clue as to what to get her for Mother’s Day (May 8th), Amazon has recently come up with a bonus gift offer for that special mama of yours.

They are selling the Kindle 3G (3G + Wi-Fi) at it’s regular price of $189 but if you buy it before Mother’s day, they’ll throw in a $25 Amazon Gift Card.   This is only valid for US Customers.

Interested in getting this deal?  Click this link to go to the Amazon page and follow the instructions below:

1.  Add the Kindle 3G and $25 Gift card to your shoppping cart.

2.  When you are finished shopping click the “Proceed to Checkout button”

3.  The $25 Gift Card promotion value will be reflected at checkout.

4.  Once you complete the purchase, the gift card will be mailed to the physical address designated by you at checkout.

Hope you and your family have a great Mother’s Day and I know this is a bit early but just wanted to give you some time in case you still hadn’t made up your mind about a gift.

Amazon has recently started selling a “Kindle with Special Offers“, where you get the same  Kindle for $25 less.  The only catch is that special offers and sponsored screensavers display on the Kindle screensaver and on the bottom of the home screen but they don’t interrupt your reading experience

Special Offers
So what are these special offers you say?  You’re basically getting discounts on Amazon products, which is not a bad deal if you already shop from Amazon.  Some offers include:

  • $10 for $20 Amazon.com Gift Card
  • $6 for 6 Audible Books (normally $68)
  • $1 for an album in the Amazon MP3 Store
  • $10 for $30 of products in the Amazon Denim Shop or Amazon Swim Shop

Sponsored Screensavers
The goal with these is to display sponsored screensavers that you want to see.  That’s why there’s a free Kindle app and website (coming soon) called AdMash.  Anyone who’s interested can download AdMash and help pick future screensavers. Two prospective screensavers show up side-by-side, and you pick the one you find most attractive. The ones preferred most by customers qualify to become sponsored screensavers.

You can also set your personal Kindle Screensaver Preferences to give us hints on the style and types of sponsored screensavers you’d like to see on your Kindle.  For example, you can indicate that you’d like to see more or fewer screensavers that include elements such as landscapes and scenery, architecture, travel images, photography, and illustrations.

What are your thoughts on paying less to get a Kindle but viewing ads/discounts?

In Number Slide, you are presented with a set of numbered tiles on a grid.  One tile is removed and the remaining tiles are scrambled.  The objective is to get all the tiles into proper numeric order by moving the tiles into the one open space and sliding them around until they are back where they belong.

Number Slide features hundreds of randomly generated game grids.   You can choose between a small (3×3), medium (4×4) or large (5×5) puzzle grid with larger grids being more difficult.  You can also challenge yourself by trying to beat your best time on each puzzle.

Number Slide comes with instructions as well as tips to help you if you get stuck.  You can choose if you wish to move tiles manually (where you select each move with the 5-way button first), or automatically (no need to press the 5-way button).
