To prevent others from using your Kindle or seeing your content, you can create a password that must be entered whenever your Kindle starts or wakes from sleep.  If you forget your password, try looking at the password hint you entered when you first created the password.

Follow these simple steps to create a password:

  1. If you’re not already on the Home screen, press the Home button.
  2. Press the Menu Button.
  3. Use the 5-way to underline “Settings” and press select.
  4. Use the 5-way to underline “turn on” next to the “Device Password” setting and press to select.
  5. Type in the password you want.  The maximum password length is 12 characters.
  6. Navigate down and type in your password again to confirm.
  7. Navigate down and type in a hint.  This hint can be displayed on the password entry screen to help you remember your password.
  8. Navigate down using the 5-way and select “submit”.

And that’s it!  Now you can safely protect your Kindle from your curious family members 😉

If you didn’t get Mahjong Solitaire when it first came out, now it’s the time to get it!  Discounted 50% for a limited time and with newly updated navigation!  Now you can guide your cursor directly to a tile!

In Mahjong Solitaire, you match pairs of identical tiles in order to remove them from the board. Only free tiles can be matched. Tiles are considered free if they do not have other tiles to either the left or right of them, or on top of them.  The objective of the game is to clear all the tiles from the board. The game ends when all tiles have been removed or when there are no more free tiles left to match.

Mahjong Solitaire tracks the number of pairs of free tiles available to be matched for you. In addition, the game allows for unlimited undos, and contains a Hint feature that will give you suggestions for your next move, as well a Shuffle feature that will rearrange the tiles when you get stuck.

Mahjong Solitaire provides 10 different game board layouts to choose from. The game maintains game statistics that track your best time for each layout finished.

If you want to take advantage of this offer you have until February 6, after that it will be go back to its regular price of $3.99

Kindle Lending Club is a website that matches lenders and borrowers of Kindle ebooks.   To participate in lending and borrowing Kindle books, you must first register as a user on the site or connect with Facebook Connect.

Lenders need to have access to a valid email address to loan a book, but it can be ANY valid email address.  DO NOT use your Kindle’s email address to register.  There are many services that provide free email services and it’s always handy to have an email address that is not associated with anything important when it might be accessible to strangers.

Kindle lending is a feature launched by Amazon.  Any Kindle book that has lending enabled can be loaned by one Kindle user to another for 14 days. At the end of the loan period the title is automatically transferred back to the book owners Kindle.  Each Kindle book you own can only be loaned once.
